Gavriel Butler was born in Chicago, and for many years he has lived in Israel. by the age of eleven Gavriel was performing professionally on the stage in front of crowds of two to three thousand people. By the age of twenty-one he was lead singer for the Soul Messengers band (in the Black Community in Dimona - Israel). In Israel Gavriel performs in a various TV shows and on stage, he is also performing and arranging different music with many other leading artists in Israel. He has represented Israel in many prestigious international festivals all over the world. Gavriel has been involved in the production of nine albums, including six of EDEN's plus three of G-Force's productions. His newest appearance is on a joint project with Subliminal's 'TACT All Stars 2004' in producing his new album. In 1995 Gavriel and his brother Eddie Butler formed EDEN with two other Israeli singers, making Israeli soul music. In 1996 Gavriel produced gospel, spiritual and soul music from Israel addressed to the audience worldwide. In 1999 EDEN represented Israel in a finals of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Jerusalem, and took 5th place with "Happy Birthday" - the song he was a co-writer for. In 2002 Gavriel was the co-producer in Jerusalem of the first concert for the Raise the Praise Music Festival. In 2003 Gavriel represented Israel in the World Song Festival in Panama City and took 2nd place with his song 'It's my life'. Gavriel also represented Israel in the Song of Songs gospel music festival in Torun, Poland. In 2004 Gavriel represented Israel in a Tribute to Pope John Paul II Concert in Warsaw, Poland. This concert with the Pope's participation was televised worldwide. |
